A bonus breaking episode: Tesla's flying Roadster — the story, the hype, and what to actually believe. Under two minutes.
Alex: Okay, quick bonus episode — because we could NOT wait on this one.
Jordan: Tesla's flying Roadster! Charles, I saw the video — it drove upside down on a ramp. Upside down!
Alex: Thursday night at SpaceX's test site in Texas. This is the new Roadster with actual SpaceX cold-gas thrusters built in — ten nozzles, ultra high-pressure air tanks.
Jordan: Plus a suction system underneath so it grips while it's inverted. It flipped off the ramp, spun in the air, landed — then jumped clean over a whole lineup of Teslas.
Alex: Zero to sixty in point eight one seconds. Top speed over two thirty. Musk says production starts in twenty twenty-eight.
Jordan: No price announced, but reservations are open — fifty thousand deposit for the Performance, two hundred fifty thousand for the Thrust version, and an invite-only Rocket version with the full flight system.
Alex: Haha — traffic, no problem indeed.
Jordan: So is it a real flying car or the world's coolest hop? More hop than flight for now. But it's real hardware doing unreal stunts.
Alex: And can we talk about the reservation tiers for a second? Fifty thousand dollars just to hold a spot on the Performance.
Jordan: And two hundred fifty thousand for the Thrust! That's not a deposit, that's a house down payment!
Alex: Haha, right? Tesla's done this before though — big deposit, big promise. That twenty twenty-eight date... let's just say we'll believe it when we see it.
Jordan: Fair. But the video is real, the hardware is real, and it's the most fun car story in years.
Alex: We'll dig into all of it — what it means, whether it'll ever be street legal — on Sunday's week-in-review and Monday's show. This couldn't wait, but there's more coming Sunday and Monday!
Jordan: Go watch the video. Talk soon!
